The universe is the vast space where we find planets, stars, galaxies, asteroids, and other matters. Till now the size of the universe was not known. The planet is an astronomical body or a star which is capable to be rounded by its own gravity. Now in this blog let us try to know more interesting and amazing facts about planets and their specialties.

International Astronomical Union(IAU) Defined planet as a celestial body that is in orbit around the moon, sufficient mass for its self-gravity, and the clear neighborhood around its orbit.

1. Mercury have no moons!

Saturn has a high number of moons whereas venus and mercury don’t have any moons. Scientists found a reason, this is because mercury and venus are the closest planets to the sun. moons here may fit in unstable orbitals. so these planets are easily captured by the sun. Also destroys due to heavy gravitational forces. Because of heavy gravity mercury cannot hold its moon in a fixed position.

whereas Jupiter has 79 moons. Saturn has 53 moons and Uranus has 27 moons and Neptune has 14 moons, Earth has one moon, Mars has 2 moons.
The biggest moon of the solar system is Ganymede present on Jupiter.

2. Mars is known as Red planet.

Sometimes when mars come close to earth we often see mars in Red color. Mars is named after Roman mythology called the god of wars. The red color is because of the surface which is high in iron oxide. Iron minerals present in the soil helps to look atmosphere and soil red.

3. Age of Saturn Rings are unknown.

We probably see rings for Saturn. rings are formed due to dust, ice, particles, and rocks circling the Saturn which looks like rings. these are more likely to trapped by gravity. because of several wavelengths, we are so able to see rings. Scientists are working to know the age of the rings.

4. Venus Spins in the clockwise direction.

Other planets spin on their axis from west to east. Venus spins on its axis from east to west. Like other planets, Venus and Uranus spin in the same direction but at a certain point, they are stuck by huge objects. Many planets also collide with Venus at certain times.

5. Jupiter is the largest planet in solar system.

This Planet is a giant ball of gases and every planet can fit into it. if the earth was a grape then Jupiter is basketball. Jupiter is 11 times bigger than the earth.  More than 1,300 Earths would fit inside Jupiter. Jupiter is also 2.5 times more massive than all the other planets combined, having 318 times the mass of Earth.

6. Liquid Water is only present on EARTH.

Except for Earth, all other planets are named after roman and geeks mythology. The Name earth is named 1,000 years ago. We know that Earth is the only planet that has life. Many living things live here. The atmosphere is surrounded by 78% of nitrogen, 21% of oxygen, 1% other gases. Our atmosphere is saving us from meteoroids. All other planets have water in the form of snow, ice, and so on. but the earth has in liquid form.

7. Only one spacecraft visited Neptune.

Neptune takes about 16 hours to rotate day, and about 165 Earth years to orbit the sun year. Neptune has five main rings which are clumps of dust likely formed by the gravity of a nearby moon. Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have visited Neptune. No spacecraft has orbited this distant planet to study it at length and up close.

8. Uranus is known As Sideways Planet.

Using Telescope the first planet found was Uranus. It is four times larger than Earth. Uranus is also a ring planet and has 13 known rings. this is sideways planet because it rotates on its side. It takes 17 hours to complete a day.

[…] Earth is our place. It rotates itself and revolves around the Sun for 365 days. Sun is the biggest star and mostly consists of helium and hydrogen. So the surface temperature of the sun is 10,000 degrees F. Conversion of 70 crores tonnes into 65 crore tonnes produces light. From which we can able to see every object. The solar system consists of earth, sun, and other planets. […]
